The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail is the most common butterfly found in the Eastern United States. This one was photographed in the Garden at Westminster, Winter Park, Florida.
The male does not have the blue markings like the female. The female may also be found in the dark morph appearance.
This is the state butterfly for DE, GA, NC, SC and VA.
