The Dromoland Castle was our first stop on our Week in Ireland Tauck Tour. The statue on top of the Gazebo is the Flying Mercury Statue.

This is the beautiful St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland. A private tour of the Cathedral was part of the Tauck Tour. The cathedral is 800 years old and is the largest cathedral in Ireland.

After lunch on the way back to Dromoland Castle we stopped at the Hole of Sorrows. This is a portal tomb in the Burren, County Clare, Ireland. It dates back to the Neolithic period possibly between 4200 BC and 2900 BC.

It dates back to the Neolithic period possibly between 4200 BC and 2900 BC. In 1985 excavations found between 16 and 22 adults and 6 children buried under the monument.
Trinity College Harp
This harp is on display inside of the Trinity College Library in the town of Dublin, Ireland. It dates to the 14th or 15th century and is one of three oldest surviving Gaelic harps. This is the harp that is found on the Guinness Logo.

This is the Oscar that Kathrine Hepburn was awarded for Best Actress in the 1933 movie "Morning Glory". The Oscar is in the National Potrait Gallery. The painting behind the Oscar is by Everett Raymond Kinstler 1982.

George Bush Horseshoe Player
This sculpture in bronze by Pat Oliphant of George Bush as a horseshoe player is a must see. The sculpture is found in the National Portrait Gallery.
The Dying Tecumseh
This sculpture by Ferdinand Pettrich in 1856 was moving to see. Tecumseh was a Shawnee chief from the Ohio Valley. He was killed during the War of 1812 at the Battle of the Thames. (Ontario)

Gandhi led India to freedom from British rule in 1947. This is the statue in front of the India Embassy in Washington, DC. He lived from 1869 - 1948 . The statue represented his life so the message reads "My life is my message."

The Cincinnati Society was founded in 1783 by the offices of the Continental Army. The name Cincinnati comes from a hero of the Roman republic who refused rewards for serving the nation. George Washington was president of the society from 1783 until his death in 1799. The society has beem headquarded in the Anderson House since 1938.
