The Odyssey passed under a railroad bridge just as the evening train was passing over. I took a chance and made the image.
Our river trip ended at the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The arches of the bridge made the wonderful frame for the Georgetown neighborhood in Washington, DC. The bridge was completed in 1923 and is the oldest surviving bridge across the Potomac River.
The visit and guided tour thorugh Thomas Jefferson's home Monticello was another high point of the trip.
