This is the antenna that was on the top of the North Tower of the World Trade Center on 911. Found in the Newseum.

Newseum Control

The Newseun is a must see in Washington. The Museum champions the five freedoms of the fist ammendment. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of RELIGION, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof: or abridging the freedom of SPEECH, or the PRESS; or the right of the people to peaceably ASSEMBLE, and to PETITION the government for a redress of grievances."

This is part of the engine that was recovered at the World Trade Center . Just seeing the actual part of the engine causes you to just stand, wonder and have a silent moment. This is also located in the Newseum.

Odyssey

Part of our tour of Washington was to take an Odyssey North Bridge Potomac River Cruise. It was a great evening and a wonderful way to see Washington, DC at night.

Cincinnati George Washington CBW

The Cincinnati Society was founded in 1783 by the offices of the Continental Army. The name Cincinnati comes from a hero of the Roman republic who refused rewards for serving the nation. George Washington was president of the society from 1783 until his death in 1799. The society has beem headquarded in the Anderson House since 1938.

Washington Homeward Bound

The Odyssey passed under a railroad bridge just as the evening train was passing over. I took a chance and made the image.

Francis Scott Key Bridge

Our river trip ended at the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The arches of the bridge made the wonderful frame for the Georgetown neighborhood in Washington, DC. The bridge was completed in 1923 and is the oldest surviving bridge across the Potomac River.

Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial

I had to wait for just the right moment to capture the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. The reflections on the water made the image.

John F. Kennedy Center

While on our trip we had the chance to have dinner at the Kennedy Center and hear the National Sympnonic Orchestra play. This image was take from the cruse ship Odyssey on the Potomac river.

The Toy Theater

The Toy Theater was created by Peter Waddell. I just came upon the painting while walking aournd Washington, DC in the early morning hours.

Cyprus Diplomat Lexus

While in Washington, DC our hotel was in the embassy area so walking around was fun. I couldn't pass up the 0001 Cyprus Diplomat's car.

English Pansy

This group of Pansys in the United Kingdom Embassy flower garden were so perfect that I couldn't pass up an image of them.

The Queen's Table

Inside the residence the Queen's table was set for everyone to see.

British Ambassador's Residence

The weekend we were in Washington, DC was the European Embassy open house. A visit to the United Kingdom Embassy only can happen once a year on the weekend we were there.

In the sitting room these roses just had to have an image made.

The Vice President's Home

Near the British Ambassador's residenc is the home of the Vice President.

Monticello

The visit and guided tour thorugh Thomas Jefferson's home Monticello was another high point of the trip.

Our second stop was the home of James Madison, Montpeller.

Florida House Tour Group

This is the group who went on the Florida House tour. We are standing outside on the terrace of the John F. Kennedy center.

National Symphony Orchestra

This is the National Symphony Orchestra that was conducted by Christoph Eschenbach the evening we attended. He conducted the Orchestra for the two hour perfromance without a score. It was an unforgettable experience.

The Golden Typewriter

The Golden Typewriter is found in the National Sype Museum. This typewriter belonged to Lady Dogean Smithers. Her husband Sir Peter Smithers worked closely with Ian Fleming for British Naval Intelliigence. It is Smither's exploits that contrubuted to Flemng's character James Bond. Fleming like Lady Dogean's typewriter so much he purchased one himself.

The Dying Tecumseh

This sculpture by Ferdinand Pettrich in 1856 was moving to see. Tecumseh was a Shawnee chief from the Ohio Valley. He was killed during the War of 1812 at the Battle of the Thames. (Ontario)

Enigma Cipher

This is the Enigma cipher machine used during World War II by the German Luftwaffe. The machine is also found in the National Spy Museum.

Nora

While walking arouind the hotel in the early morning a came upon the NORA. The NORA is America's First Certified Organic Restaurant.

Gandhi led India to freedom from British rule in 1947. This is the statue in front of the India Embassy in Washington, DC. He lived from 1869 - 1948 . The statue represented his life so the message reads "My life is my message."
