This is the location and replica of the original Fort Astoria. Erected April 12, 1811. It was a famous fur-trading post and the first American settlement west of the Rock Mountains.
The Astoria Column as seen from where the American Harmony was docked. This was one of most interesting things we saw and visited on the trip. The Column was constructed by April 1926 and dedicated in July 22, 1926. Only the top three bands were completed then.
