Attilio Pusteria, and artistic genius designed the 525-foot-long mural. He was an Italian immigrant from Milan, Italy trained in the "sgraffito" engraving technique. The images are made through layers of different colored plaster.
I climbed to the top of the Astoria Column and few the traditional balsa plane. This view is of the town of Astoria and the Columbia River entering the Pacific Ocean. Youngs River is seen entering Young's bay to the left.
This is the Astoria-Megler Bridge. The Columbia River bar in the center. Cape Disappointment is the the Right and Fort Clatsop to the left.
